This list is only showing games I personally own, therefore it is not a complete list at this stage as I am still aquiring games I'm missing.

More information about DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME

(Some information sourced from ReMyWiki and DDR Freak two fantastic sources for Bemani information. Other information has been sourced directly from my own collection.)

General Information / Changes

DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME CS (America) contains many changes to the interface of the game compared to its arcade counterpart. (DDR FESTIVAL and Dancing Stage Fusion CS would later use this interface/scoring system.) Here is a list of differences:
- The song wheel interface is completely different from DDRMAX and DDRMAX2, such as the absence of the Groove Radar.
- Scoring system is unlike any other in the series before; songs give you a max score of 7,000,000, with a certain amount of bonus points possible afterward (up to 3 million, for a maximum of 10).
  - You must MAX COMBO a song with a high amount of PERFECTs to get a AA. Breaking the combo at any point in the song will only let you get a maximum grade of A, regardless of the rest of your performance in a song.
- Jumps count as one step only now for your combo, similar to the older DanceDanceRevolution games and all the arcade DanceDanceRevolution games since DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA.
- The in-game interface has also changed, with the top and bottom parts of the screen no longer having opaque bars. This allows for more space to see the arrows from below now.
First CS DanceDanceRevolution game in any region compatible with Sony's EyeToy accessory, allowing access to several minigames and gameplay modes otherwise unplayable.
First North American DanceDanceRevolution title on PlayStation 2 with Mission Mode.
First North American DanceDanceRevolution title with both Nonstop and Challenge modes.
Only DanceDanceRevolution CS title without Dance Play settings. This caused problems for a lot of players. The settings are still in the game, but a cheating device is needed in order for it to be used.
Nonstop, Challenge, and Edit Data modes all appear on the song wheel.
Training Mode no longer lets you play songs with slowed down audio when the speed of a song is set lower; it simply mutes the song.
The Extra Stage system from DDRMAX and DDRMAX2 returns, but this time requiring a minimum difficulty of an 8 footer on Heavy.
- Unlike DDRMAX and DDRMAX2, there is no One More Extra Stage/Encore Extra Stage.
Following the title change in the DanceDanceRevolution 5thMIX ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK album, THEME FROM ENTER THE DRAGON (Revival 2001 Mix) was renamed to THEME FROM ENTER THE DRAGON (notorious mix).
DO ME (H.I.G.E.O. MIX)'s banner is completely different, using some of the background graphics of the song for its banner.
LOVE LOVE SUGAR's banner is the only banner containing Japanese text and without romanization of any kind.
MEMORIES is unlocked by inputting a command on the main menu (see Trivia section below for the unlock method).
The ROULETTE and RANDOM music (which is also used in DanceDanceRevolution Party Collection) is a sped-up version of the following songs in a loop:
- B4U, DROP THE BOMB, AM-3P, STILL IN MY HEART, CAN'T STOP FALLIN' IN LOVE, CELEBRATE NITE, Try 2 Luv. U.
Only DanceDanceRevolution CS title to win an award, for Best Game Soundtrack in the 2005 MTV VMAs.
Although Information Mode credits the in-house licensed covers as being from Karaoke Revolution, the covers are not the same as the ones used in that series.

Trivia

To unlock MEMORIES, plug a controller into the second port of your PS2 and enter the following at the Main Menu; if performed correctly, you should hear a "swishing" sound and see "NEW" appear next to Information:

Press Right four times.
Press Up three times.
Press Square once.
Press Left twice.
Press Down three times.
Press Square twice.
Press SELECT.

Welcome to compare mode, this displays all songs in both games (as well as unlocks and DLC).

If a song appears in both games it is coloured ORANGE.
The songs that appear only in DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME are BLUE.
The songs that appear only in DanceDanceRevolution 2ndMIX Dreamcast Edition are PURPLE.
